DDEC III & IV Case & connector replacements

DDEC Case and connector replacements

If someone ran this perfectly good DDEC IV over but a case replacement will not fix the torn circuit board laminate. However if the DDEC still runs and the laminated circuit board didn’t tear then replacing the case might be a good option.

The aluminum case on a DDEC III or DDEC IV has three functions, first is to keep the inside of the ecm clean and dry, second to support the connectors and third to provide a strong mounting platform to the block. I don\’t have a problem with making repairs to ECM with some case damage and proving warranty for that repair as long as the case keeps the water out, has at least 3 mounting ears, supports the oem and engine side connectors on the sides and isn’t cracked. The service plate has to do it\’s job as well but as long as the plate doesn’t have a hole or damage along the seal I won\’t have a problem with it but if you want it replaced that works too.

If the engine or OEM side connector are missing or have severely corroded pins then the connectors might need to be replaced to restore the full functionality of the ECM.

$150 – $950+ return shipping

  • I try to keep good clean service plates ready to go but connectors can take a little longer to remove and reinstall. Figure 1-2 days for a connector replacement although it’s usually less.
  • Figure a week for case transplants provided other scheduled jobs are not pending.

DDEC III and DDEC IV Case, connector and service plate replacement

I don’t have a problem with making repairs to ECM with lots of case damage and proving warranty for that repair as long as the case is keeping the water out, has at least 3 mounting ears, supports the oem and engine side connectors on the sides and, isn’t cracked. Otherwise I’d need the broken case replaced to be able to provide warranty on the repair I made inside.
